About Dr. Holmes
Diane Holmes graduated in 1989 from Life Chiropractic College West in San Leandro, California. After receiving her California chiropractic license and practicing for a short time in California, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she has practiced successfully for many years.
In 2003, when chiropractic physicians in Tennessee first began to receive certification to perform acupuncture as an adjunct to their practice, Dr. Holmes became very interested in Chinese medicine. Rather than simply take the short supplemental course of education (250 hours) that would have been required for her to add acupuncture to her chiropractic practice, she chose to become fully educated in Chinese medicine and obtained a master's degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine (3,285 hours) from Southern California University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Holmes is dually licensed in chiropractic and acupuncture. She is also a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. This enables her to treat a wide range of problems beyond pain and other musculoskeletal conditions. There is evidence for the efficacy of acupuncture in a long list of conditions, and she brings her many years of experience as a chiropractor as well as her extensive training in acupuncture and Chinese herbology to the table in their treatment.
